Best Artificial Turf for Arizona Heat
Not all turf survives 115° summers. Here's the pile height, infill, and brands we actually install.

What matters in the desert
- Face weight: 70 oz+ for landscape, 50 oz for play areas.
- Pile height: 1.5"–2" — taller looks lush but mats down in heat.
- Backing: dual-layer urethane with drainage holes every 4" (Arizona monsoons are no joke).
- UV warranty: 15+ years from the mill, not the installer.
- Infill: silica sand + zeolite (controls heat and pet odor).
Brands we trust
SYNLawn, Synthetic Grass Warehouse, and ForeverLawn lines built specifically for high-UV markets. Avoid no-name imports — the fibers go brittle in 2 summers and the warranty disappears with the company.
Heat reality check
Turf will read 30–50°F hotter than ambient air on a 110° day. Sprinkle it with a hose for 30 seconds and it drops fast. Or use a cool-tech infill (zeolite + ceramic-coated sand) that reduces surface temp by 15–20°F.
