Guardian Membership Terms
These Membership Terms apply specifically to AE Outdoor Guardian — our paid outdoor living command center. They supplement (and, for membership matters, control over) our general Terms of Service. By starting a membership you confirm you have read and agree to these terms.
Last updated: June 2026
1. What Guardian is — and is not
AE Outdoor Guardian is an informational and reminder service: a private portal, scheduled maintenance reminders, warranty and document storage, AI-assisted guidance, priority scheduling for paid service work, and a member discount on eligible projects. Guardian is not an insurance policy, a home warranty, an extended warranty, a service contract for free repairs, a guarantee of outcomes, or a substitute for a licensed professional or emergency services.
2. Auto-renewal and billing authorization
Guardian is a recurring subscription that automatically renews at the end of each billing period (monthly or annual, depending on the plan you choose) at the then-current rate, until you cancel. By starting a membership you authorize AE Outdoor Living and our payment processor to charge your saved payment method on each renewal date without further action from you. Prices are shown in USD and exclude any applicable taxes.
2a. AE customer 90-day free access
If you are an existing AE Outdoor Living customer — meaning we have completed paid installation, build, service, or warranty work for you — your first 90 days of any AE Outdoor Guardian plan are free. You may cancel any time during the 90-day window with no charge. If you do not cancel, your selected plan begins billing automatically on day 91 at the rate shown at signup. The 90-day free period applies to your first Guardian subscription only; it is non-transferable, not redeemable for cash, and may not be combined with other promotional offers.
2b. What you keep after cancellation
Two outcomes, depending on your relationship with AE:
- AE customers — lifetime Essentials access. If we have done paid work for your property, your warranty records, project documents, manuals, photo history, and property/asset records remain accessible to you in read-only "Essentials" mode for as long as we operate Guardian — even after you cancel a paid plan or your 90-day free period ends without upgrading. Reminders, Health Reports, AI diagnostics, monthly photo reviews, priority scheduling, and the member discount require an active paid plan and are paused when your plan is not active. You can reactivate at any time and immediately resume those benefits.
- Non-AE customers — access ends with the plan. If you joined Guardian without prior AE installation, build, service, or warranty work, your access to the Command Center, vault, reminders, and all member features ends at the close of the paid billing period in which you cancel (or when an unpaid subscription lapses). You may export your uploaded documents and photos at any time before that date from Photos & Documents → Export. We retain your account record so you can re-subscribe and restore access, subject to data retention limits described in our Privacy Policy.
AE-customer status is determined by AE's records of completed paid work for the property associated with your account. If you believe your status is incorrect, contact us at support@aeoutdoorliving.com and we'll review and update it.
2c. Pricing changes
We may change membership pricing or plan features. If we increase the price of your plan, we'll notify you by email at least 30 days before the change takes effect so you can review or cancel before the next renewal.
3. Cancellation — easy and any time
You can cancel your membership at any time from the Billing & Account page in your portal. Cancellation is effective at the end of the current paid billing period — your access and benefits continue through that date, and you will not be charged again. You may also cancel by emailing us or replying to any membership receipt; we will confirm cancellation in writing.
4. Refunds
- Monthly plans: non-refundable for the current month. Cancel any time to stop future charges.
- Annual plans: refundable on a pro-rated basis within the first 30 days. After 30 days, annual plans are non-refundable but remain active through the paid period.
- Billing errors: contact us within 60 days of a charge you believe is incorrect and we will investigate and, if confirmed, refund the erroneous amount.
5. Member discount — what it does and doesn't cover
Eligible members receive a discount on qualifying AE Outdoor Living service and repair work (the discount rate depends on your tier and is shown in your portal). The discount applies to labor and AE-supplied materials on eligible service work. It does not apply to: third-party manufacturer pricing, permits, HOA fees, financing costs, emergency or after-hours premiums, work performed by sub-trades we do not employ, or new-construction project contracts already under a signed agreement. The discount cannot be combined with other promotions and is not redeemable for cash.
6. Priority scheduling
Members receive priority placement in our service queue at the tier described in your portal. Priority scheduling means we attempt to schedule your eligible service work ahead of non-member requests subject to crew availability, weather, parts availability, permit timelines, and existing customer commitments. It is not a guaranteed response time or service-level agreement, and it does not promise emergency response. For true emergencies (fire, gas, electrical hazard, flooding, structural danger) call 911 or the appropriate utility or licensed professional immediately.
7. AI guidance disclosure
Parts of Guardian — including the AI Outdoor Diagnosis, Sophia assistant, plant care suggestions, manual lookup, and reminder recommendations — generate output using artificial intelligence based on the information you provide. AI output is informational only, can be incomplete or wrong, and is not a professional inspection, engineering opinion, licensed contractor's advice, legal advice, or medical/pet/horticultural advice. Never attempt electrical, gas, structural, glass, or pool-chemical work based on AI guidance — contact a licensed professional. AE Outdoor Living is not liable for decisions or actions taken in reliance on AI output.
8. Photos, documents, and your content
You retain ownership of photos, documents, and information you upload to Guardian. You grant AE Outdoor Living a non-exclusive license to use that content for the purpose of operating Guardian for you (storage, AI analysis, reminders, service coordination, and — if you accept a service quote — performing the work). We will not publish your property photos publicly without your separate written permission. See our Privacy Policy for how we handle your information.
9. Account, access, and termination
You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity that occurs under your account. We may suspend or terminate a membership for non-payment, abuse of staff, fraudulent activity, or violation of these terms or our general Terms of Service. If we terminate without cause, we will refund the unused portion of any prepaid period.
10. Communications and consent
By starting a membership you agree to receive service-related communications (renewal notices, receipts, reminders, service updates, and important account messages) by email and, if you opt in, by SMS and push notification. You can adjust notification preferences any time in Billing & Account → Notifications. Marketing messages require separate opt-in and can be turned off independently. SMS terms are in our SMS Terms.
11. Electronic records (E-SIGN)
You agree to receive membership-related notices, agreements, receipts, and disclosures electronically (email and in-portal). You can withdraw this consent by canceling your membership; while your membership is active, electronic delivery is required because Guardian is delivered through the portal.
12. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
Guardian is provided "as is" and "as available." To the fullest extent permitted by law, AE disclaims all warranties — express or implied — including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, uninterrupted availability, and non-infringement. AE's total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to your Guardian membership is limited to the amount you paid for the membership in the 12 months immediately preceding the claim. This section does not limit liability that cannot be excluded by law.
13. Governing law and disputes
These Membership Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona. Disputes related to your membership will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Maricopa County, Arizona. Nothing here limits your consumer-protection rights — see our Consumer Rights page, including your right to file a complaint with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Membership Terms. If a change materially affects your rights or billing, we'll notify you by email and in the portal before the change takes effect. Continued use of Guardian after the effective date means you accept the updated terms.
