This isn't a cost. It's an investment.
The figures on this page are real and we don't hide them — that's how AE operates. But we want to be honest about how to read them. Your paver patio or driveway isn't a line-item expense; it's an investment in your home's value, your family's daily experience, and a space you'll use for the next twenty to thirty years.
When you compare bids, compare what you're investing in — the spec, the crews, the warranty, the company that will still be standing in year ten — not just the price tag. The lowest bid is almost always the most expensive build over time.
Paver Patio Cost in Arizona — 2026.
Real ranges from a Peoria-based design-build team that pulls permits in our license and installs across the entire Phoenix metro. Published pricing, no 'call for quote' games.
Educational estimate, not a quote. Ranges shown are Arizona-market planning estimates. Final pricing depends on site access, size, materials, engineering, drainage, utilities, permits, equipment access, existing conditions, and final scope. Binding pricing is only valid in a written proposal signed by an AE representative.
By the square foot (installed)
- Concrete pavers (Belgard, Pavestone, Techo-Bloc): $14–$20 / sq ft.
- Travertine pavers (tumbled French pattern, Silver, Ivory, Walnut): $18–$26 / sq ft.
- Porcelain pavers (large-format, modern look): $22–$28 / sq ft.
- Driveway-rated pavers (any of the above with 4–6" base): $18–$32 / sq ft.
- Pool deck pavers (cool-fired travertine or porcelain): $20–$30 / sq ft.
By typical project size
- Small patio (200 sq ft): $2,800 – $5,600
- Mid-size patio (400 sq ft): $5,600 – $11,200
- Large patio (800 sq ft): $11,200 – $22,400
- Two-car driveway (~700 sq ft): $12,600 – $22,400
- Three-car driveway (~1,100 sq ft): $19,800 – $35,200
What's in the AE price (and isn't optional)
- Excavation to base depth (2–3" on patios and walkways, 4–6" on driveways, additional depth where build-up or higher-traffic use calls for it).
- Geotextile fabric on clay or caliche-heavy lots.
- Compacted ABC base — never quarter minus under pavers — lifts compacted at proper moisture.
- Bedding sand (1" screeded), pavers laid to pattern, cut to fit.
- Edge restraint (spiked PVC or aluminum) — the single thing most cheap quotes skip.
- Polymeric sand joints, swept and activated.
- Full demo and haul-off of existing concrete or hardscape.
- Drainage planning and grading away from the house.
- Permits where required (driveway permits are common; patio permits vary by city).
- 2-year AE workmanship warranty + manufacturer material warranties (reviewed in writing during proposal).
What drives cost up
- Removing existing concrete: $4–$8 / sq ft demo and haul.
- Custom borders, soldier courses, inlays: +$2–$6 / sq ft.
- Narrow side-gate access (wheelbarrow-only): +10–20% labor.
- Engineered drainage (French drains, area drains tied to dry well): $1,500–$6,000 add.
- Tree root removal or stump grinding: $300–$1,200 each.
- Heat-sensitive timing (July/August installs run longer, occasionally more).
What drives cost down
- Open backyard access for skid-steer.
- Standard rectangular layouts without custom inlays.
- Concrete pavers vs. natural stone (10–30% less material cost).
- Bundling patio + walkway + small driveway in one project (one mobilization).
