Complete Backyard Transformations

Pool, decking, shade, kitchen, lighting, glass, and softscape designed together — and built by one accountable team. Fewer change orders, better sequencing, cleaner final result.

How services work together

One plan beats five contractors.

Designed together

Pool, pavers, kitchen, shade, lighting, and glass on one master plan — so they actually fit each other.

Sequenced correctly

Utility rough-ins before slabs. Lighting conduit before pavers. Glass code coordinated with pool layout.

One accountable team

One point of contact, one schedule, one warranty conversation — instead of pointing fingers between trades.

Fewer surprises

Drainage, HOA, permits, and material lead times planned up front — not discovered mid-build.

Common combinations

What homeowners build together.

Pool + pavers + turf

The most-requested combination. Decking, soft green zones, and clean transitions designed together.

Pool + spa + pergola

Year-round swim and soak with shade designed around the sun angle, not after the fact.

Pool + outdoor kitchen + fire

The entertainer's backyard — cooking, gathering, and a focal point that pulls people outside.

Pavers + turf + lighting

Hardscape-forward yards that don't need a pool but want a finished, evening-usable space.

Glass fence + pool remodel

Open up sightlines while bringing a tired pool back to life with new finish, tile, and equipment.

Full backyard transformation

Pool, spa, kitchen, pergola, fire, glass, lighting, sound — designed and built as one plan, by one accountable team.

Realistic planning ranges

What an Arizona outdoor project really costs.

We publish category-level ranges instead of "call for pricing." Use the Pricing page for context and the Budget Builder to assemble a realistic ballpark for your scope.

Published specifications are typical AE planning or construction baselines. Final specifications depend on site conditions, engineering, manufacturer requirements, applicable code, and the signed scope.

Process

How an AE project moves.

01

Discovery

We learn how you actually live outside, your budget range, and the constraints of your lot.

02

Design

Master plan with layouts, materials, and 3D where useful. You sign off before contracts.

03

Proposal

Itemized scope, transparent pricing, and the milestone payment schedule that applies to your project.

04

Build

Sequenced construction with a named project manager, documented project updates at appropriate milestones, and inspections coordinated as scoped.

05

Aftercare

Walkthrough, handoff packet, registered warranties, and a real number to call when you need service.

Construction standards

Specifications you can plan against.

AE publishes the planning baselines we work to — paver base depths, polymeric jointing, pool milestone payments, and warranty coverage — so you can compare bids on the same terms. Full technical explanations live on our Construction Standards page and in the Learning Hub.

FAQ

Common questions about working with AE.

Do I have to commit to a full backyard build?+

No. We build single features as well as full transformations. The Services hub is here to show you what's possible — your scope is up to you.

Can AE phase a project over time?+

Yes. Many homeowners phase by feature or zone. We build a master plan first so phase 2 doesn't tear up phase 1.

Do I need a design before pricing?+

For anything larger than a single feature, yes. Real pricing requires a real scope. The Pricing Guide and Budget Builder can get you to a realistic ballpark before that.

Can AE handle permits and HOA?+

Yes — When permitting and HOA coordination are in AE's written scope, AE prepares and submits the applicable documents. You don't navigate the city or the architectural committee alone.

Who actually builds the project?+

AE self-performs much of its work and coordinates qualified specialty partners where specialized equipment, licensing, products, engineering, or expertise are required. Design, project management, and aftercare are handled internally so there is one accountable team across the project.

Is financing available?+

Yes. See the Financing page for partners and terms. AE is not a lender; all loans are issued by independent third parties.

AE also considers select projects elsewhere in the Phoenix metro based on scope, schedule, crew availability, and fit. Sonoran Glass and AE LEDs use division-specific service-area criteria.
