A note on the numbers

This isn't a cost. It's an investment.

The figures on this page are real and we don't hide them — that's how AE operates. But we want to be honest about how to read them. Your glass pool fence isn't a line-item expense; it's an investment in your home's value, your family's daily experience, and a space you'll use for the next twenty to thirty years.

When you compare bids, compare what you're investing in — the spec, the crews, the warranty, the company that will still be standing in year ten — not just the price tag. The lowest bid is almost always the most expensive build over time.

Sonoran Glass & Fence · Cost Guide

Glass pool fence cost in Arizona, in real numbers.

Most Arizona contractors hide glass fencing behind 'call for pricing' so they can size you up before they quote. We don't. Here's exactly what frameless and spigot-mounted glass pool fencing costs in the Phoenix metro in 2026, what drives it up or down, and how to budget without surprises.

The honest version: Glass isn't the cheapest pool fence — it's the right pool fence when the view is part of why you bought the house. If you'd rather save 60% and look at black iron bars, that's a legitimate choice and we'll tell you that on the phone.

Educational estimate, not a quote. Ranges shown are Arizona-market planning estimates. Final pricing depends on site access, size, materials, engineering, drainage, utilities, permits, equipment access, existing conditions, and final scope. Binding pricing is only valid in a written proposal signed by an AE representative.

01

The installed range

$225–$260 per square foot, installed, in the Phoenix metro. That covers tempered safety glass panels, mounts, gates, hardware, layout, core drilling, and finish. Optional add-ons like hydrophobic or ceramic coating can be added. Final number lands inside that range based on the variables in the next section.

02

What pushes you toward $225/sq ft

  • Long straight runs (fewer panels, fewer cuts)
  • Standard 1/2" tempered glass
  • Spigot mount into existing, level concrete or pavers
  • Single gate, standard self-closing hardware
  • Matte black or brushed nickel (most-stocked finishes)
  • Clean access — no tear-out, no demo
03

What pushes you toward $260+/sq ft

  • Step-downs, curves, multiple corners, short panels
  • 5/8" or 3/4" glass for taller spans or wind exposure
  • Frameless standoff or full base-channel system
  • Multiple gates, magnetic latches, soft-close hinges
  • Custom finish (oil-rubbed bronze, satin chrome, color-matched)
  • Core drilling into post-tension slab or stamped concrete
  • Tear-out and disposal of an existing fence
04

Apples-to-apples vs other fence types

  • Wrought iron pool fence: from ~$140/lf — durable, blocks the view
  • Tubular aluminum: ~$65–$110/lf — better corrosion resistance, still blocks view
  • Mesh removable: $40–$48/lf — meets code, looks temporary, sags over time
  • Glass (spigot or frameless): $225–$260/sq ft — preserves the view, premium finish
  • Note the unit change: iron/mesh are typically priced per linear foot; glass is priced per square foot because panel height and thickness matter.
05

Permits, code, and HOA

Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, and Glendale all enforce residential pool barrier code (5' minimum height, self-closing/self-latching gate, panel spacing that won't pass a 4" sphere). A like-for-like fence replacement often doesn't require a separate permit, but new pool barriers and gate reconfigurations usually do. HOA review (Silverleaf, DC Ranch, Verrado, Eastmark) is a separate process — send us the spec sheet and we'll quote to it.

06

Warranty + what's actually included

  • 10-year manufacturer material warranty on tempered glass, spigots, hardware
  • 2-year AE Outdoor Living labor + workmanship warranty
  • Optional add-on: hydrophobic or ceramic coating
  • Code-compliant gate hardware and post-install function check
  • Written care + maintenance guide so the glass keeps reading clear

Glass pool fencing & artificial turf — read this before you blame the fence

If you have artificial turf near a glass pool-fence run and you're seeing a hotspot, the closest piece of glass is not automatically the cause. The standard AE / Sonoran Glass & Fence spec is clear, uncoated, 1/2-inch monolithic tempered safety glass — a single solid pane with no sealed insulating airspace and no Low-E coating, which is materially different from the double-pane Low-E windows most often associated with focused reflection. It's a lower-risk configuration, but not zero risk, and the only responsible way to confirm or eliminate any panel is to observe and test it during the actual reflection period.
