A note on the numbers

This isn't a cost. It's an investment.

The figures on this page are real and we don't hide them — that's how AE operates. But we want to be honest about how to read them. Your commercial artificial turf project isn't a line-item expense; it's an investment in your home's value, your family's daily experience, and a space you'll use for the next twenty to thirty years.

When you compare bids, compare what you're investing in — the spec, the crews, the warranty, the company that will still be standing in year ten — not just the price tag. The lowest bid is almost always the most expensive build over time.

Statewide Commercial

Commercial Artificial Turf Arizona.

AE Outdoor Living is a licensed Arizona ROC commercial turf contractor covering the full commercial spectrum — HOAs, multifamily, hotels, restaurants, corporate offices, rooftops, playgrounds, sports fields, and dog daycare operators — across the Phoenix metro and greater Arizona. Every bid ships with base depth, infill spec, drainage rate, edging, warranty, and the COI language your project requires.

The honest version: Most commercial turf failures in Arizona are traceable to one of three shortcuts: base compaction that stopped after one pass, infill spec that was residential-weight on a commercial-traffic zone, and drainage that was assumed instead of engineered. AE runs commercial-grade base depth, matched infill weight for the actual use case, and drainage rate written into the proposal — because a common area that ripples in year two is a warranty claim, not a finish.

The AE commercial spec

  • Base: 3–4" compacted class II road base on standard traffic; 4–6" on high-traffic, sports, or vehicular-edge zones.
  • Weed barrier + geotextile fabric on clay and caliche.
  • Turf: matched to use case — face weight, pile height, backing, and warranty class documented per zone.
  • Infill: cooler antimicrobial infill (Envirofill or T-Cool) on people/pet zones; graded silica on sports; loose crumb-free playground infill for fall attenuation.
  • Drainage: engineered rate per zone; open-bottom drainage base on pet/dog daycare when specified.
  • Seams: glued with seam tape, grain-matched, staggered per manufacturer spec — never overlapped or nailed through.
  • Edging: hidden nailer, bender board, concrete curb, or paver band per site.
  • Playgrounds: ASTM F1292 / F1951 rated pad system, fall-height documented per installed depth.
  • Sports: shock-pad thickness and GMAX test target set at design.

Why HOAs, PMs, and GCs choose AE

  • David Bell — President, Southwest Hardscapes Association (13 years on board, 15 years involved).
  • Licensed Arizona ROC contractor, insured, bonded — COIs issued before mobilization.
  • In-house crews on every commercial install — no farmed-out labor.
  • Published commercial spec on every bid — no 'call for pricing.'
  • 20+ years installing across Arizona soil, HOA rules, and property management workflows.
  • Community-first company — Shop With a Cop, Day of Giving, Purposeful Giving Alliance, backpack drives, and donated backyards. We didn't build a company that gives back. We built a company on giving back.
FAQ

Common questions.

Commercial installs in Arizona run $9–$16 per sq ft installed, depending on square footage, use case, base depth, drainage, and infill spec. Volume pricing kicks in above 5,000 sq ft. Sports fields, playgrounds with certified fall-height pad, and rooftop installs price separately because of the pad, drainage, and structural work involved. Every AE commercial proposal is line-itemed with base depth, infill type, drainage rate, edging, and warranty on one page — no 'call for pricing.'

AE is a licensed Arizona ROC contractor headquartered in Peoria. Our President, David Bell, is the current President of the Southwest Hardscapes Association. We install for HOAs and property management companies, multifamily and Class-A apartment operators, hotels and restaurants, corporate campuses and rooftops, dog daycare/boarding operators, playgrounds, and sports facilities across the Phoenix metro and greater Arizona.

Yes. AE is licensed, bonded, and insured under our Arizona ROC. We issue COIs for HOAs, property management companies, general contractors, and commercial owners with the required additional-insured language before crews mobilize.

Often, yes. SRP, EPCOR, and several Phoenix-metro municipalities run landscape conversion rebates that apply to grass-to-turf conversions on commercial common areas, apartment complexes, and HOA parcels. AE walks the property manager or board through eligibility and provides the documentation the rebate application needs.

Three things: base depth is deeper on high-traffic zones, infill spec is heavier so it doesn't migrate under foot traffic and cleaning, and drainage has to be engineered — not assumed. Playgrounds add a certified fall-height pad. Sports fields add shock-pad and GMAX/ASTM testing. Rooftops add structural drainage layers. That's the delta.

Yes. AE is a licensed sub for GCs across the Phoenix metro on new construction, tenant improvements, hospitality projects, and multifamily developments. We bid off drawings, provide submittals, coordinate to the project schedule, and hand back closeout documents.

2-year AE workmanship warranty (written into every commercial proposal) plus 8–15 year manufacturer material warranty on the turf depending on the product selected. Both are reviewed with the owner or board in writing before construction. Warranty is transferable within the original property.
