Glass pool fence hardware brands: Polaris, CRL, FHC and PRL

A glass fence is a system: panels, spigots, gate hinges, a latch and the structure supporting them. Here is how the names on a proposal fit together—and what to compare before choosing hardware for an Arizona pool.

The honest version: AE primarily uses PRL glass and Polaris hardware; neither is an exclusive supplier. A CRL catalog listing can also sell a Polaris hinge. Compare the actual model and its role, not a brand name alone.
01

First, identify the part

A fixed glass panel rests in a specified support system: spigots are one option. A gate moves on hinges and must close and latch as the project requirements define; a hinge is not the latch. The glass, hardware, gate layout and structure must be selected as a complete system. A proposal naming a brand but not the part and model still leaves the important questions unanswered.

02

Who supplies what?

Polaris lists core-drilled and surface-mount spigots as well as gate hinges. Its 125 series is intended for new frameless exterior glass gates, including pool gates; its comparison material distinguishes the 130 retrofit series. CRL's US catalog lists Polaris 125 and 130 glass-to-glass hinges, so CRL can be a supplier of Polaris hardware rather than a competing hinge manufacturer in that quote.

CRL also lists its own spigot models, including round core and surface-mount versions. FHC documents distinct FFC surface and core fence-clamp families. PRL describes custom frameless glass gate assemblies with preinstalled hinges and options for posts or dry-set rails. PRL is relevant to glass and a complete gate assembly, not an assumed interchangeable line of spigots.

What a useful proposal should name

Start with the measured layout, fixed panels and gate locations. Ask for the panel glass thickness and permanent tempered mark, exact spigot and hinge models, alloy and finish, and the compatible gasket or clamp range. AE's fence minimum is 1/2-inch tempered safety glass; a catalog's 12 mm notation is not permission to assume the two fit without checking the selected model's tolerance before glass is fabricated.

  • For fixed panels: core mount or surface mount, verified supporting structure, anchorage detail, and any finish restoration or separate footing.
  • For gates: new-build or retrofit hinge cutouts, hinge mounting configuration, closing adjustment, separate latch, replacement parts and care instructions.
  • For the complete pool barrier: confirm the applicable height, gate behavior and other requirements with the municipality or authority, and when relevant the HOA and insurer, before final approval. The approved design and signed scope control installation.

How AE makes the choice

Stainless core-mount spigots are AE's standard; a bolt-down base plate is used only when project conditions or the approved installation detail require it. AE field-measures the approved layout and orders individually sized panels with required cuts and holes before tempering. That is a custom system, not an off-the-shelf kit. The selected supplier, model, warranty terms and responsibilities belong in the written scope. Neither a catalog label nor an attractive finish proves a substrate or an entire barrier is suitable.

Product selections. AE reserves the right to substitute a comparable product of comparable value that meets or exceeds the quality, manufacturing, performance and safety standards specified and priced for your project. Substitutions must remain compatible with the approved design, manufacturer instructions and applicable requirements, and are subject to your signed agreement and any required approvals. Read the product-substitution policy.
