What made this one different

Full resort backyard on a one-acre PV lot. Everything was sequenced to one AE crew — pool, hardscape, kitchen, pergola, and lighting — so the homeowner had one phone number from demo to final walkthrough.

Ranges shown reflect actual pricing on this build. Your project will vary by lot conditions, finish selections, and HOA requirements — we publish ranges so you have a real starting point, not a teaser number.

The Goal

The homeowners wanted a backyard that performed at the level of a private resort — entertaining for 30, daily use for two, premium finishes that would still feel current in fifteen years.

The Challenge

Town of Paradise Valley setback, height, and lighting ordinances. Acre lot meant drainage and grading had to be engineered before any hardscape was placed. Coordination with the homeowner's interior designer on finishes.

The AE Solution

AE took the build end-to-end with one project manager. We permitted, engineered, and sequenced the whole yard as one project — and used a single material palette so the patio, kitchen, pergola, and pool deck all read as one continuous space.

Engineered to PV standards without compromising sightlines.

Layered lighting

Pool, hardscape, structure, and landscape on independent scenes.

What we learned on this build

At the resort scale, every trade decision compounds. Self-performing the core build — pool, hardscape, structure, kitchen, lighting — with vetted partners only for rebar, excavation, gunite, and interior finish is what keeps the project on one schedule and one finish standard.
