The Goal

Preserve the McDowell Mountain view corridor while adding a pool and spa that read as part of the architecture — not as an addition behind the house.

The Challenge

Silverleaf design review is among the most rigorous in Arizona. Material palette, lighting, structures, and even hardware finishes had to match home architecture and meet HOA standards on first pass.

The AE Solution

AE submitted full architectural drawings, 3D renderings, and material boards as a complete package. The pool and spa were proportioned to read with the home, with frameless glass keeping every sightline open to the mountains.

Key Features
Quiet modern pool

Proportioned to the home, not the lot — restraint is the point.

Two-person spa

Designed for daily use, not a party piece.

Natural stone decking

Honed finish, hand-set joints.

Frameless glass fencing

View corridor preserved without compromising barrier code.

Architectural lighting plan

Designed to respect dark-sky standards.

What we learned on this build

At Silverleaf, the right move is almost always less. Restraint in the pool size, the material palette, and the lighting is what makes the architecture lead — not the pool.
