A note on the numbers

This isn't a cost. It's an investment.

The figures on this page are real and we don't hide them — that's how AE operates. But we want to be honest about how to read them. Your Phoenix paver installation isn't a line-item expense; it's an investment in your home's value, your family's daily experience, and a space you'll use for the next twenty to thirty years.

When you compare bids, compare what you're investing in — the spec, the crews, the warranty, the company that will still be standing in year ten — not just the price tag. The lowest bid is almost always the most expensive build over time.

Phoenix Metro

Paver Installation in Phoenix, Arizona.

Licensed ROC paver installation across the entire Phoenix metro — Peoria, Glendale, Scottsdale, Phoenix, Chandler, Gilbert, Mesa, Tempe, Surprise, Goodyear, and Sun City. Patios, driveways, walkways, pool decks. Residential and commercial. Same base spec on every job, published pricing, written proposal in 5 business days.

The honest version: Most paver failures in Phoenix trace to three shortcuts: too little ABC base, quarter minus used in place of ABC, and skipped polymeric joint sand or edge restraint. We do none of those. 2–3 inches of compacted ABC under patios and walkways, 4–6 inches under driveways, additional ABC for build-up or heavier traffic, 1 inch screeded bedding sand, polymeric joint sand — always. That spec is the reason our patios last 25+ years in Arizona soil.

What we install

  • Paver patios — small backyard patios to multi-zone outdoor living rooms.
  • Paver driveways — thicker structural pavers with 4–6 inch ABC base, city permits pulled under our ROC.
  • Paver walkways and side yards — including narrow-access hand-laid installs.
  • Pool deck pavers — cool-fired travertine and porcelain for barefoot 115°F comfort.
  • Front-yard entry courtyards, low retaining walls, and pillar caps.
  • Commercial pavers — HOAs, restaurant patios, entry driveways, courtyards.
  • Paver repair and reset — sunken pavers, lippage correction, joint sand top-ups on installs we didn't originally build.
03

The AE Phoenix paver install spec (never negotiated)

  • Excavation to base depth — 2–3 inches on patios and walkways, 4–6 inches on driveways, additional ABC for build-up or higher-traffic zones.
  • Geotextile fabric on clay or caliche-heavy lots.
  • Compacted ABC (aggregate base course) — never quarter minus under pavers.
  • 1 inch screeded bedding sand.
  • Pavers laid to pattern, cut to fit, tight tolerances.
  • Spiked PVC or aluminum edge restraint — the single most-often skipped line item on cheap quotes.
  • Polymeric joint sand, swept and water-activated.
  • Drainage planning — pavers graded away from the house, area drains and French drains where the lot requires them.
  • Full demo and haul-off of existing concrete or hardscape.
  • Permits pulled under AE's ROC license where required.
  • 2-year AE workmanship warranty + manufacturer material warranties reviewed in writing during proposal.

Why homeowners choose AE for Phoenix paver installation

  • President David Bell is current President of the Southwest Hardscapes Association — 13 years on the board, 15 years involved. Independent industry validation, not a marketing claim.
  • Published base spec — every AE proposal shows base depth, sand bed, joint sand, and edge restraint. No fine print.
  • Written 5-business-day proposal turnaround. No 'call us for pricing.'
  • In-house crews. AE crews do the install — no subcontracting the base work to whoever answers the phone that week.
  • 20+ years installing pavers in Arizona soil. We know which lots need geotextile, which cities require driveway permits, and where monsoon runoff will find your patio.
  • 2-year workmanship warranty on every install, in writing.

Most Arizona contracting work valued at $1,000 or more — or requiring a permit — must be performed by a properly licensed contractor, subject to statutory exemptions. Verify the legal entity, license status, and classification with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors.
  • Real ranges, itemized scope. You see materials, finishes, equipment models, and a line-item budget before you sign — not a one-line "pool — $90,000."
