A note on the numbers

This isn't a cost. It's an investment.

The figures on this page are real and we don't hide them — that's how AE operates. But we want to be honest about how to read them. Your Arizona pool build isn't a line-item expense; it's an investment in your home's value, your family's daily experience, and a space you'll use for the next twenty to thirty years.

When you compare bids, compare what you're investing in — the spec, the crews, the warranty, the company that will still be standing in year ten — not just the price tag. The lowest bid is almost always the most expensive build over time.

AE Pool Builders — Arizona's licensed custom pool designer and builder.

AE Pool Builders is the pool-construction arm of AE Outdoor Living. Same ownership, same crews, same warranty desk. Arizona ROC 211530, 340966, 341002, and 347738. We design, engineer, permit, and build custom gunite pools across the entire Phoenix metro — and we publish every number, every milestone, and every spec before you sign.

The honest version: Most Arizona pool shopping ends the same way: three bids, three payment schedules, no way to compare them. AE Pool Builders fixes that. We publish the canonical 15/25/25/25/10 milestone schedule on every contract, list equipment brands by name, and document shell spec before excavation. If a competing bid won't put those three things in writing, that's the answer.
01

03

15% at signing, 25% at excavation, 25% at shotcrete, 25% at deck/tile, 10% at pool school. No "10% or $1,000" language. No vague remainders. If a competing pool bid won't put a milestone schedule in writing, that's the answer.

FAQ

Common questions.

AE Pool Builders is the pool-construction arm of AE Outdoor Living — the same company, same ownership, same crews. We hold Arizona ROC licenses 211530, 340966, 341002, and 347738, pull every permit ourselves, and build custom gunite pools across the entire Phoenix metro and beyond.

The full Phoenix metro: Phoenix, Scottsdale, Mesa, Gilbert, Chandler, Peoria, Glendale, Surprise, Goodyear, Litchfield Park, Buckeye, and surrounding communities. Statewide commercial and destination-home projects are handled case-by-case.

Entry-level gunite pool with basic decking: $65,000–$85,000. Mid-range pool with spa, water feature, and travertine deck: $95,000–$150,000. Full luxury build with automation, glass fencing, and integrated outdoor room: $175,000–$400,000+. Every line item published — no "call for pricing."

The canonical AE pool schedule is 15/25/25/25/10 — 15% at signing, 25% at excavation, 25% at shotcrete, 25% at deck/tile, 10% at pool school. Written on every contract, no "$1,000 or 10%" language, no vague remainders.

Yes. AE Pool Builders pulls every permit under our own ROC licenses and manages the full HOA architectural submission package. Typical HOA approval runs 2–4 weeks depending on the community.

12–20 weeks from permit to swim in most Phoenix-metro builds. Excavation and shell 3–5 weeks, plumbing/electrical/gas 2–3 weeks, deck and coping 2–4 weeks, interior finish and startup 2–3 weeks.

Every AE pool is engineered gunite — rebar cage, shotcrete shell, PebbleTec or quartz interior. Fiberglass shells are limited by truck-delivery size and don't age well under AZ UV. Vinyl liners fail fast in Phoenix heat.

2-year written workmanship warranty on the build, plus manufacturer warranties on equipment (Pentair, Jandy, PebbleTec, etc.) documented on the contract.

Why this is an investment, not a cost.

An AE backyard is engineered to add daily livability and long-term home value. We publish honest ranges and build to code with a licensed and bonded Arizona crew. AE provides project-specific workmanship and manufacturer-warranty information in the signed agreement. Website summaries are for planning only.

  • Licensed, bonded & insured in Arizona. ROC 340966 (R-62) · ROC 341002 (R-3) · ROC 347738 (KA-5) · ROC 211530 (CR-21). Most Arizona contracting work valued at $1,000 or more — or requiring a permit — must be performed by a properly licensed contractor, subject to statutory exemptions. Verify the legal entity, license status, and classification with the Arizona Registrar of Contractors.
  • Real ranges, itemized scope. You see materials, finishes, equipment models, and a line-item budget before you sign — not a one-line "pool — $90,000."

We had Advant-Edge install our yard/pool from bare dirt to the finished project. This is a quality company that takes pride in doing great work and it showed every step of the way. The owner of the company checked in regularly to make sure everything happened according to the plan. We're really happy with how everything turned out and since completion our kids spend most of their time outside playing.

Right from the initial consultation it was evident Advant-Edge was committed to understanding my vision and turning it into a reality — their team listened attentively, offered valuable insights, and translated my ideas into a tangible plan. The construction process was seamless and efficient, and their attention to detail was remarkable. What truly sets them apart is their exceptional customer service and open communication throughout the entire project. Glass fence around the pool looks phenomenal — even better than expected! Truly elevates the backyard. Donovan and Adam were really great to work with, and worked through several iterations to create the perfect curve around the pool. They went above and beyond to get everything completed in time for a party we were throwing!
