Pavers · Brand Review

Artistic Pavers — the pool-coping premium, honestly reviewed.

Marble and shell aggregate, factory-cast bullnose, cooler underfoot. Artistic is what we spec when the design calls for premium pool coping — and where it doesn't make sense for a full patio.

The honest version: Artistic Paver is priced as a pool-specific product. On a driveway, you're paying premium for a benefit (light color, cool surface, factory coping edge) that doesn't matter. On pool coping, that same premium is exactly what you're buying. Right product, right application.
01

The brand at a glance

  • Florida-based manufacturer (Artistic Paver Mfg).
  • Composition: crushed marble, shell aggregate, Portland cement.
  • Product mix: pool coping (bullnose, drop-face, European), pool deck pavers, patio pavers.
  • Color palette: light Mediterranean / Caribbean tones (Marble, Shellstone, Ivory, Autumn).
  • Distribution: pool builder + hardscape contractor channels.
02

Where Artistic wins

  • Pool coping — factory-cast bullnose beats site-cut concrete every time.
  • Cooler surface temps than standard concrete pavers.
  • Light Mediterranean color palette matches pool tile and travertine.
  • Consistent color-batching across coping + deck.
03

Where Belgard or travertine win instead

  • Driveways and non-pool patios (Belgard on cost + finish).
  • Genuinely cool-underfoot pool decks (travertine wins here).
  • Modern large-format designs (Belgard Dimensions).
04

AE's pool coping install spec

  • 2–3" ABC base under adjacent deck, 1" sand bed.
  • Coping units set in polymer-modified mortar bed on the bond beam.
  • Weep gaps at the coping/pool tile interface for pool water expansion.
  • Polymeric joint sand on deck pavers.
  • 3-year AE workmanship warranty + first-year loose-coping re-mortar included.
FAQ

Common questions.

Artistic Paver Manufacturing produces cast-stone pavers using crushed marble, shell aggregate, and Portland cement. The result is a lighter-colored, cooler surface than standard concrete pavers — that's why they're widely spec'd on pool coping and pool decks across Arizona and Florida. Their bullnose pool coping in the 'Marble' and 'Shellstone' colors is one of the most common premium pool coping choices in the Valley.

Cooler than standard grey or dark concrete pavers, yes — the light shell/marble aggregate reflects more heat. But no paver is 'cool' at 115°F ambient. Realistic surface temps for light-color Artistic pavers in direct sun: 130–140°F vs 150–160°F for dark concrete. For genuinely cool-underfoot at pool coping, travertine or artificial turf borders are the next step up. AE will always mock up a paver sample on-site so you feel it before you commit.

Almost every Artistic Paver install we do in the Valley is pool coping, pool deck, or pool coping + patio combo. Their bullnose coping profile is factory-cast (not field-cut), which gives a cleaner edge than site-cut concrete pavers. For driveways and non-pool patios, we more often spec Belgard or Pavestone — Artistic is priced as a premium pool-specific product.

Artistic Paver bullnose coping installed on a residential pool typically runs $28–$42 per linear foot depending on profile (standard bullnose, drop-face, or European). A full pool deck in Artistic pavers runs $18–$28 per sq ft installed vs $14–$22 for standard concrete pavers. The premium buys the color, the cooler surface, and the factory bullnose edge.

Artistic Paver Manufacturing offers a limited structural warranty on the units — check the current terms sheet at time of order. AE backs every install with a 3-year workmanship warranty on base, coping mortar, joint sand, and settlement. On pool coping specifically, we also inspect and re-mortar loose coping units for the first year at no cost — a standard AE addition for pool-adjacent hardscape.

Spec'ing Artistic Pavers for pool coping or a pool deck?

AE will mock up an Artistic Paver panel on-site next to travertine and Belgard alternatives so you feel the surface temp and see the color in your own light before committing.
