Permanent Holiday Lighting (AE LEDs) — How It Works and What It Costs

What permanent holiday lighting is

Linear RGBW LED tracks mounted into the soffit/eave channel — invisible from below in daytime, color-controllable from a phone at night. Same hardware does warm white ambient, full RGBW holiday programs, team colors for game day, and one-tap party scenes.

Why homeowners switch from staple-up holiday lights

  • No ladder, no tangled strands, no November weekend lost.
  • Programs schedule themselves — turns on at dusk, off at bedtime.
  • Same fixture does Halloween orange, Thanksgiving warm white, Christmas RGBW, July 4 patriotic, every team color, plus daily ambient.
  • 30,000+ hour LED life — replace once a decade, not annually.
  • Adds curb appeal even when off — track is nearly invisible.

Install + cost

Average 2,500 sf single-story home: $4,500–$8,500 installed. Two-story or complex rooflines: $7,500–$15K. Includes controller, app setup, and one professional programming session. We're an authorized AE LEDs dealer; install and warranty are local.

What to ask any installer

IP65+ rated diode (UV survives Arizona). Continuous-channel track, not screw-on clips. Local controller (not cloud-only — works if internet drops). 5-year hardware warranty minimum. Confirm the system is wired to a dedicated low-voltage transformer rather than a porch outlet, and ask for that to be identified in writing.
