Glass fencing is the cleanest pool barrier money can buy — IF it's installed to AZ code. Most aren't.
Cost
Installed glass pool fencing generally ranges from $225–$325 per linear foot. Gates, specialty glass, coatings and custom hardware are quoted separately. Final pricing depends on total footage, gates, glass selection, hardware, mounting conditions, access, engineering requirements and site conditions.
AZ code basics — verify locally
Pool-barrier requirements vary by municipality and HOA and are verified for each project. Common baseline items to review with your local jurisdiction include:
- Barrier height above adjacent grade.
- Tempered safety glass panels of a code-appropriate thickness (our standard is 1/2-inch tempered).
- Self-closing, self-latching gate with the latch mounted at code height and opening away from the pool.
- No horizontal climbable features.
- Complete enclosure on all sides where the house is not treated as a barrier.
What goes wrong
Cheap installers skip the engineered footings (it's not a fence post — it's a structural element). One windstorm and panels fail. Always verify: qualified installer, engineered plan for the specific substrate, and the permit and inspection path required by your municipality.
