Life at AE
Care about the work. Care about the people. Do it right.
AE Outdoor Living is a destination employer for people who care how the work is done. The AE Standard applies the same way to projects, clients, candidates, partners, and the community — there isn't one version for customers and a different one for crews.
The three principles, in practice
Care about the work
Craft and detail are part of compensation here. We invest in tools, training, and time so the work can be done right — not just done fast.
Care about the people
Crews, clients, partners, and community. We treat each other the way we'd want our own families treated on a jobsite or in a sales conversation.
Do it right
Licensed, insured, code-correct, honestly priced. No shortcuts on base prep, materials, or warranty work — even when nobody is watching.
What's actually true here
- Project volume is intentionally managed — we'd rather take fewer projects and deliver the AE standard than chase backlog.
- We publish real costs and trade-offs to customers; you'll never be asked to bluff a number you don't believe in.
- Giving back (Shop With a Cop, Day of Giving, backpack drives, donated backyards, Purposeful Giving Alliance) is a foundational expectation, not an add-on.
- Leadership is active in the field and active in the industry — David Bell currently serves as President of the Southwest Hardscapes Association.
Is AE a strong mutual fit?
We won't pressure you and we won't oversell the role. If you care about craft, people, and standards, take the next step — and if not, that's useful information too.
