In-Ground vs Above-Ground Trampolines for AZ Backyards

Why in-ground for AZ

Above-ground trampolines blow over in monsoon storms (50+ mph gusts), and the fabric/springs UV-degrade in 2–3 summers. In-ground trampolines sit flat with the lawn, survive every storm, and last 8–12 years.

Install spec

3 ft excavated pit, retaining wall (block or pre-fab kit), proper drainage at the bottom (critical — monsoon water will fill the pit if not drained). Capital Play and Avyna are the two brands we install.

Investment

$4K–$9K installed for a 10–14 ft trampoline including excavation, retaining wall, drainage, and trampoline kit. Above-ground is $500–$1,500 but you're replacing it in 3 years.

Safety net

Yes, even in-ground. Most pediatric injuries are from kids landing on the springs or off the trampoline onto the ground. Net + spring pad = real safety.
