How Long Does Pool Construction Take in Arizona?

Week-by-week

  • Weeks 1–2: Design finalization, permit submittal.
  • Week 3: Layout, excavation (1–3 days).
  • Week 4: Steel & plumbing rough-in, electrical, gas.
  • Week 5: Shotcrete/gunite shell + 28-day cure begins.
  • Weeks 6–8: Tile, coping, deck install in parallel with cure.
  • Week 9: Interior finish (pebble or plaster) applied.
  • Week 10: Fill, start-up, equipment commissioning, swim.

What causes delays

Permit backlogs (especially Scottsdale and Paradise Valley), HOA review, monsoon storms during excavation week, and back-ordered equipment. We pre-order long-lead items the day you sign so weather is the only real variable left.
