Arizona Outdoor Living Cost & Planning Index
A first-party annual research program on what Arizona homeowners actually plan, spend, and build outdoors — drawn from anonymized AE project records.
First edition status: in preparation. No statistics are published on this page until the underlying records, methodology, sample size, and owner approval are complete. We will not invent numbers to fill space.
What the Index will report
Each annual edition is built from approved, anonymized AE project records. Planned topics:
- Common project-scope combinations (pool + hardscape + shade, hardscape-only, full-yard, etc.)
- Planning investment ranges by scope and broad region
- Project-size ranges (lot area, hardscape square footage, pool surface area)
- Popular features and material selections
- Common site constraints (slope, utility easements, HOA, access)
- Design durations (range and median)
- Permit and approval patterns by jurisdiction class
- Construction-duration ranges by scope
- Causes of project delay, categorized
- Remodeling versus new-construction mix
- Geographic demand by broad region (East Valley, West Valley, Scottsdale corridor, Central PHX/PV)
- Homeowner planning priorities at intake
We will not publish customer identities, addresses, contract documents, personal information, or misleading averages. Any statistic that cannot be reported responsibly will simply be omitted.
