A note on the numbers

This isn't a cost. It's an investment.

The figures on this page are real and we don't hide them — that's how AE operates. But we want to be honest about how to read them. Your pools & spas project isn't a line-item expense; it's an investment in your home's value, your family's daily experience, and a space you'll use for the next twenty to thirty years.

When you compare bids, compare what you're investing in — the spec, the crews, the warranty, the company that will still be standing in year ten — not just the price tag. The lowest bid is almost always the most expensive build over time.

Pool resurfacing in Phoenix: cost, finish options, and timing

Phoenix pools need resurfacing every 10–20 years depending on original finish and chemistry. Here's what a real refinish costs, what's included, and how long it takes.

The honest version: A proper Phoenix pool resurface runs $6,000–$20,000+ depending on size and finish. Plain white plaster is the low end; Pebble Sheen / Pebble Tec / polished quartz is the range most AE clients pick. The finish itself is only ~40% of the job — the rest is prep, tile line, and startup.

Educational estimate, not a quote. Ranges shown are Arizona-market planning estimates. Final pricing depends on site access, size, materials, engineering, drainage, utilities, permits, equipment access, existing conditions, and final scope. Binding pricing is only valid in a written proposal signed by an AE representative.

Budget to the high end. Use the top of every range on this page as your working number. The low end assumes easy access, sound existing conditions, and standard selections — real Arizona projects often carry demolition, drainage or grading work, upgraded materials, or conditions found once work starts. If the top of the range still fits your plan, the project fits your budget. Ranges are planning guidance, not a quote; the signed scope controls.

What's in a real resurface

  • Drain, cut existing finish back to sound substrate, chip bond coat.
  • Repair any cracks or hollows in the shell.
  • Replace waterline tile if compromised.
  • Bond coat, apply new interior finish, hand-trowel or expose per finish type.
  • Acid-wash start (Pebble finishes), then 30-day startup chemistry.
FAQ

Common questions.

Typical job is 1–2 weeks from drain to refill, weather permitting. Plaster cures faster than exposed aggregate.

White plaster: 8–12 years. Pebble finishes: 15–20 years. Signs it's time: rough surface, spot etching, staining that won't wash off.

Yes — this is the right time. Darker finishes read deeper and warmer; lighter finishes read tropical. We'll show real samples in your pool's light before you commit.
