A note on the numbers

This isn't a cost. It's an investment.

The figures on this page are real and we don't hide them — that's how AE operates. But we want to be honest about how to read them. Your artificial turf project isn't a line-item expense; it's an investment in your home's value, your family's daily experience, and a space you'll use for the next twenty to thirty years.

When you compare bids, compare what you're investing in — the spec, the crews, the warranty, the company that will still be standing in year ten — not just the price tag. The lowest bid is almost always the most expensive build over time.

How much does a backyard putting green cost in Arizona?

Anyone can lay green turf. Getting a green that rolls true, holds a chip, and doesn't crown at the cup is a different install.

The honest version: Small starter (3–4 cups, 200–400 sq ft): $4,000–$7,500. Typical family green (500–800 sq ft, contours, fringe, chipping zone): $8,000–$18,000. Tournament-style (1,000+ sq ft, multiple tiers, custom breaks): $25,000+.

Educational estimate, not a quote. Ranges shown are Arizona-market planning estimates. Final pricing depends on site access, size, materials, engineering, drainage, utilities, permits, equipment access, existing conditions, and final scope. Binding pricing is only valid in a written proposal signed by an AE representative.

01

What drives cost

  • Square footage and cup count.
  • Nylon green turf (rolls true, holds chips) vs cheaper polypropylene.
  • Contouring — every custom break adds base labor.
  • Fringe collar in a contrasting pile height.
  • Chipping/tee zone in longer pile.
  • Sand infill (kiln-dried silica) rolled to spec stimp.
02

What's included in a proper AE build

  • Excavation + compacted ABC base graded to design contours.
  • Nylon putting surface, seams glued and nailed.
  • Regulation cups + flags.
  • Kiln-dried silica infill brushed and rolled to consistent stimp.
  • Fringe + optional chipping/tee zone.
